Architectural Draftsperson / Technician

Position Summary:

GPN Architecture is seeking a self-motivated architectural designer to join our team. Applicants must have a minimum of 5+ years of architectural experience and proficient in all phases of building design and construction and project administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, evaluating and manipulating designs to meet the needs of our clientele by producing and coordinating construction documents with supervision of a project architect and / or senior designer. Applicant must be willing to learn and grow their skills in a fast-paced professional environment.

General Responsibilities:

  • Assists the team in preparing architectural drawings for all phases of the project from schematic design through construction document completion
  • Generate SketchUp models for design study and client presentation
  • Perform Site Inspection Duties including Field measuring and “As Built” document creation
  • Proficient in Sketch Up
  • Proficient in MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of architectural documents and multiple construction methods

    Project Architect

    Position Summary:

    The applicant should be a professional who has over 10+ years of related experience and a professional degree (Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture) from an NAAB-accredited program in the United States. The candidate will have reached a level of competency with a track record that demonstrates the respect others have for them in the design and construction industry. He or she should be a seasoned leader and trusted professional who transcends a perspective and vision beyond their projects, segment, or specialty. Registration as a licensed architect is required.


    Qualified candidates must have the proven ability to lead a small project team and contribute to the work effort by utilizing and supervising architectural production documents and conducting independent research and analysis as necessary (including code searches, product searches and detailing methods). An understanding of project organization, document detailing, client presentation, and thoughtful guidance and instruction to junior staff and team members are desired qualities in applying candidates.

    He or she will build relationships and serve as a point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants and may attend and lead meetings with the owner and other team members. He or she will be responsible for preparing presentation materials, agendas, and posting meeting documentation when necessary. Assignments may involve working independently, managing teams on projects, or managing teams on components of large projects and may include developing schedules, providing instruction to project team members, and managing team efforts. The applicant should demonstrate team leadership skills that produce results. He or she should have an understanding of constructability issues, building codes, and risk management. The applicant will be expected to mentor junior staff and make project assignments among team members, proactively sharing skills and knowledge with others and contributing to GPN beyond their project assignments.
