Blue Ridge Log Cabins

This new facility in Campobello, SC houses the corporate offices and manufacturing operations for the production of custom log homes. The high profile site (adjacent to I-26) and the unique client needs required extensive design study to integrate functional needs with artistic design principles. One of the main design concepts was the expression of craftsman detail and workmanship using simple utilitarian materials. Because the company wanted to manufacture larger homes up to 3,200 sq. ft., they requireda large open facility of 112,000 sq. ft. including 9,600 sq. ft. of lobby and offices. Prominent elements of the structure include state-of-the-art technologies and unique client requested features such as a catwalk above themanufacturing area to allow potential homebuyers to view the construction procedures and work in progress. The contractor for this project was TN Construction.

INMAN COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT Inman, SC

This project is part of a network of volunteer fire stations in rural Spartanburg County. The 6000 square foot fire station provides overnight accommodations for two to four volunteer firemen with sleeping quarters, kitchen, day room, and offices. The high bay area provides space for three vehicles and state of the art accessories for protecting the safety of the community.

Design Build

Design Build is a project delivery system used in the construction industry. It is a method to deliver a project in which the design and construction services are contracted by a single entity known as the design–builder or design–build contractor. In contrast to "design–bid–build" (or "design–tender"), design–build relies on a single point of responsibility contract and is used to minimize risks for the project owner and to reduce the delivery schedule by overlapping the design phase and construction phase of a project.

GPN Architecture, Inc. is poised and positioned to assist any owner or contractor in the Design Build process. Our years of experience, attention to detail, clear and concise documents, and proper communication leads to costs savings in the design process
